
DULUTH, GA – February 11, 2025 – Joe Allen, executive director of the Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District (GPCID), was honored with the Public Service Award last Friday, February 6, during the Gwinnett Chamber’s 77th Annual Dinner at the Gas South District. The evening celebrated the outstanding contributions of individuals pivotal to the prosperity of Gwinnett County and recognized exceptional achievements in the community.
Allen was awarded the Public Service Award (PSA) presented to well-respected individuals based on their service to other people, objectives and the Gwinnett community as a whole, above and beyond excellence in one’s own profession, business, service or enterprise. Allen was one of five recipients honored at the event.

In addition to this recognition, Allen received the Professional Excellence Award from the Council for Quality Growth in November 2024.
Nick Masino, President and CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett, expressed his congratulations, stating, “We congratulate each of this year’s honorees and thank them for their invaluable service to our business community.”
“I’m honored to receive the Public Service Award and grateful for the recognition. This award is a testament to the hard work of everyone in our community who strives to make Gwinnett County better. I look forward to continuing our efforts to improve and grow the Gwinnett Place District,” Allen said.
Other PSA honorees included Salmaan “Sal” Ajani (Amazing Energy Solutions, LLC), Jennifer Fennell (Jackson EMC), Council Member Victoria E. Jones (City of Lawrenceville Council, Post 2) and Rep. Matt Reeves (Georgia House of Representatives, District 99), all of whom were celebrated for their dedicated service to Gwinnett.
The event concluded with a leadership transition as the gavel was passed from Lanier Levett, Immediate Past Chair of the Gwinnett Chamber Board of Directors, to the 2025 Board Chair, Brad Carr of Andersen Tate and Carr. Carr outlined the Chamber’s vision for 2025, emphasizing a continued commitment to excellence and innovation in the coming year.
